NEW STRAC STEPPER DRIVE MODELS RELEASED

Applied Motion Products has just released the STR Stepper Drive offering new drives designed for use in AC powered applications. STR stepper drives are designed for smooth motion and high torque over a wide speed range, bringing high performance motion control to basic step & direction applications. Two new AC powered STRAC drives expand the offering to cover larger motors and applications where maximum power is required. Operating on AC supply voltages of 90 to 240 AC, these new STRAC drives can be wired directly to 120 or 220 VAC line voltages, eliminating the need for a DC power supply. AC line voltages are internally converted by the drives to high DC bus voltages that enable larger step motors to be driven with maximum power. These drives are designed for demanding applications where high torque and high speed are necessary.

APPLIED MOTION PRODUCTS STEPSERVO DRIVES

StepSERVO Drives are the closed-loop versions of Applied Motion Products well established, high performance, microstepping step motor drives. By incorporating closed-loop servo control algorithms in these drives and pairing them with StepSERVO Motors with high resolution encoders, we are able to create StepSERVO systems with performance that greatly exceeds conventional step motor performance. StepSERVO is the Next Evolution in Step Motor Technology. Starting with a proven integrated motor design, we add a high-resolution incremental encoder and closed-loop servo firmware to create a motor that offers the best step motor performance available today. StepSERVO integrated motors offer the same high-torque-at-low-speed and excellent holding torque characteristics of open loop stepping motors, with the advantages of true closed-loop control. These advantages include the ability to create peak torques up to 50% higher than open loop motors, as well as cooler and quieter operation.

Applied Motion offers a complete range of pure planetary gearheads for use in precision applications with step and servo motors. These gearheads sport high torque ratings and low backlash, are available in NEMA sizes 17, 23, and 34, as well as some metric frame sizes, and come in a wide range of ratios.

NEW PRODUCTS: PH SERIES MINI PLANETARY GEARHEADS

PH Mini Gearheads are designed to be used with small step motors and Applied Motion StepSERVO motors in the NEMA 8, 11 and 14 frame sizes. The miniature design of the PH gearheads allows these gearheads to be paired with small motors without adversely affecting the outside dimensions of the combined gearmotor. PH Series Mini's are available in three frame sizes: 22, 28 and 36 mm.
