PATLITE is Japan’s largest manufacturer of visual and audible warning devices since developing the first rotating warning light in 1965. Their primary market at that time was public safety and emergency vehicle lighting. Since then, with the emerging factory automation industry and the use of computers with machinery, a new market was created. A need to increase productivity and eliminate down-time in a “just-in-time” environment, the machine status indicator with multiple colors was developed.

PATLITE brand now leads the world market in the factory automation industry. To achieve this dominant position in the marketplace, expansion had to take place. In 1992, PATLITE built a 30 million dollar Technical Center employing 100 engineers. A year later, they began building a manufacturing plant on eleven acres of land costing over 60 million dollars. This state-of-the-art production site was completed in 1994 and still continues future expansion. Understanding the marketplace and developing new technologies is their mission statement and this is what separates PATLITE from the competition.
